We found the hockey arena easy enough...
We found the pin trading area,
...cops on segue's....
....a skate rental place and a rink where I can assure you they are unlikely to have anyone steal the skates as they are BRIGHT orange.
And something akin to the Korean Stampede Band touring the grounds and stopping to perform...
Speedskating oval...
We came across another cultural group on their way to a performance..
We did find Soohorang, the Games white tiger mascot on the grounds. The line up for pictures with this guy had 25 people in it.
We had an opportunity to see some curling...it took some last minute planning and a venue upgrade pass but we got in...
Canada was playing the US and South Korea playing Italy so the stands were full. Our friend, Karla has worked at a number of Olympics and she was here as the curling venue manager.
That is her desk at 'centre ice' right on the boards.
We got a nice wave from her...
...and when we finally settled in, we were sitting right next to her to watch the games.
Talk about a venue upgrade!
We stayed at the curling venue until our preferred seating area got busy and we thanked Karla and headed out to find Canada House.
When we got there, the crowd was watching the same curling match. It took the US an extra end to beat Canada.
I looked around to see if there was anyone I knew. I knew this guy....
...but I don't think he knew the 'world famous' Brian Lynam.
There was lots of red and white in the room....
...and plenty of Molson Canadian
After we left, we ran into more Sled Dogs - who were enjoying a well deserved day off from the hill.
